Favored Health is a medical device company that was founded in 2009.  Favored Health is helping to transform the health-care industry into an efficient, transparent, and quality-driven system. With an attentive understanding of the medical and dental professions and the patients they serve, Favored Health recognizes both patients’ and practitioners' needs for an improved tongue depressor that is comfortable in the mouth of the patient and easy to use for the practitioner, as well as favourable to the environment.

Favored Health has ventured to bring forth a cleaver solution to a common medical dilemma and to the continued emission of greenhouse gases.  Favored Health has designed a renewable tongue depressor that is a sustainable replacement to the current wood tongue depressor.

Favored Health has created their eco-friendly tongue depressors made from corn.  Using a natural bio-polymer promotes the use of an annually sustainable resource.  

Favored Health has developed the first tongue depressor made from corn.  The tongue depressors are 100 % compostable and 100 %  biodegradable. 

Favored Health manufactures in the USA and Canada.

Favored Health has created tongue depressors, in both adult and junior sizes, that are visually appealing, smooth in texture, and tasteless.  Specifically, the junior-size tongue depressors boast of various animal shapes choreographed into the design of the tongue depressor.  The irresistible animals and colours capture the child’s attention and immediately eliminate fear and improve the examination.

About the Founders

Bruce and Jane Pickel are the founders of Favored Health. As grain-producing farmers and medial device developers, Bruce and Jane have successfully brought both fields together. The culmination of their wisdom in agricultural practices and bio-based alternatives, with emerging medical technologies, has resulted in the development of their innovative and preferred medical devices.

Honored and blessed to work alongside their families’ multi-generational farms, both Bruce and Jane recognize the value of labouring together for the advancement, productivity, and success of everyone involved in a shared goal.
